Programs for returning Lithuanians

Gal į Lietuvą? is an initiative of the Employment Service for those who have left Lithuania and are considering returning to work and live in Lithuania. The aim of this initiative is to disseminate information about the Lithuanian labour market, employers, and their expectations to Lithuanians living abroad. Events will be organised for Lithuanians living abroad to meet potential employers and even to start negotiating the terms of possible employment. These planned events will present relevant labour market information, Lithuanian employers and working conditions, and any questions will be answered. Participants will be able to find out about the most in-demand professions, social guarantees, and living conditions in Lithuania. More information

Bring Together Lithuania/Jungtis Lietuvai is a summer internship programme initiated and supported by the Kazickas Family Foundation, which gives young people from the Lithuanian diaspora (18−26 years old) the opportunity to gain professional skills, meet other Lithuanians from all over the world, and get to know more about modern Lithuania. During the six-week summer internship programme, Lithuanian diaspora students not only have the opportunity to gain experience in leading companies and organisations, but also get to know better our modern country. Junior professionals’ program “Kurk Lietuvai“ (Create Lithuania) is the first and still the only program for professional advancement and the applicability of best foreign practices to Lithuania, enabling junior professionals to contribute towards shaping the future of modern Lithuania with their knowledge and ideas.During a 12 month program, 20 participants of the JPP Create Lithuania advise on a rotation basis, for 4 months, public sector bodies on various national and regional issues in the areas such as the improvement of Lithuania’s image, the enhancement of competitiveness and business environment, the promotion of entrepreneurship, foreign direct investment and related issues. More information

Your first EURES job – is a program designed for young people (18-35 year old) who seek to work in a different EU member state than they currently reside. Its main objective is to support youngsters from EU member states, Iceland and Norway in finding a job, internship or apprenticeship abroad. The program is also beneficial to the employers, especially small and mediums-sized enterprises, in filling available job positions with competent professionals which otherwise would be hard to find. Members of the program may as well acquire appropriate job finding and employment support services which may be coordinated with financial support for job interview travel costs, language courses, relocation contribution, assessment of qualifications, costs of living for interns and apprentices and etc. The program may also be used by Lithuanians who are returning from EU or EEA member states.
